Hi All Century Toastmasters and soon to be Club members.
Here are the highlights for the meeting....
The SMALL CONFERENCE ROOM was filled with 17 members and 3 NEW Guests -- Harold Sherrill, Ozucuir Csorum, Alicia Valle. You are always welcome to our weekly meeting. Thanks for making time for our meeting.
We hope you benefit from the experience.
Alan Colton, our club President, started the meeting on time and introduced Joe Stewart as the Toastmaster.
Educational Moment, Don Wiggins explained the "Case to giving a Powerful Message" 3 steps: 1) State the claim, 2) Use Evidence to support the claim, 3) Explain how important the claim is to you and get the audience to understand. The audience should get a vision of what you are talking about in your speech.
Prepared Speakers:
1st Speaker: Ferdonya Henderson did her 2nd speech towards her ATM. She did a TV interview with Evonne on the status of the CHILDREN USING THE INTERNET. Parents need to know what their children are finding.
2nd Speaker: Evonne Spineto did her 8th speech towards on "Take Care" of yourself. The word to remember is RELAX., Rest, Enjoy, Lazy, Aspirin and X -- marks the spot.
3rd Speaker: Allison Conversedid her 2nd speech towards her CTM on how to prepare to a public speech, First know your audience and always know what you are saying.
Table Topics Master was Maury Tasem, he proposed the Table Topics to another meeting.
Matt Greenbergs was the General Evaluator, his team: Doug Goodman was Evaluator #1, Erica Johnson was Evaluator #2, Dick Larkin was Evaluator #3, and Michelle Segal was the Grammarian/ AH counter and Michelle Hoyt was the Timer. All did a great job of Evaluation.
The ballots were counted and the awards were all close calls:
Best Speaker: Evonne Spineto
Best Evaluator: Michelle Segal, Set a new Standard as Grammarian/ Ah counter
Congratulations keep up the Great work.

They were Kate McGinnis, Emily English, and Dustin Rosa.

For the Educational Moment, Alan Colton explained the various functionaries for the meetings, and the club members volunteered for positions for the next two weeks
Prepared Speakers:
1st Speaker: Alan Colton did his 2nd speech towards his ATM-B. He spoke from the Story Telling manual and told a personal story of his experience with the Boy Scouts on a 50 mile canoe trip.
2nd Speaker: Evonne Spineto did her 6th speech towards her CTM on being a Home-aholic - one who is addicted to constant home decor improvements, and one who knows that the best sheets in the world come from Milan, Italy. As evidenced by the Pope using those sheets.
Table Topics Master was Ferdonya Henderson, she picked Tony Gutierrez and Maury Tasem to speak on providing positive evaluations. They all did a wonderful job of talking spontaneously.
Joe Stewart was the General Evaluator, Gail DaSilva was Evaluator #1, and Dick Larkin was Evaluator #2, Maury Tasem was the Grammarian/ AH counter and Julio Sanchez was the Timer. All did a great job of Evaluation.
