Meeting Notes from Wednesday, May 26 2004

"Today, the torch has been passed to a new generation"
- Alan Colton, soon to be immediate past President

This is what you call "last minute cramming" Joe and Amir were today's speakers, and they're reviewing their notes. Donna was the timer, and she did an excellent job.

Joe Stewart was the first speaker and discussed several useful ways to get better miles per gallon. (He and I car pool to the Toastmasters meeting, so we're doing our part).

The meeting room was completely filled, and Don Wiggins even went next door to grab chairs for the late attendees.

Joe, Amir, Donna and Don

Cher Vargas (a guest), Ferdonya, Gabe and Dick

Alan Colton, Club President ran the election. No hanging chads, absentee ballots or cries of tampering.

Dick Larkin, President-Elect as today's Toastmaster

Joe Stewart getting physical over gas prices.

This is the softer side of Joe.

Amir Sherif demonstrating how to dribble a soccer ball, or something like that.

Amir was born in Adis Ababa, Ethiopia which is kind of like Jamul.

Amir has one more speech to receive his CTM

Dick Larkin presenting the ATM-Bronze award to Alan Colton

The ATM-B is a 10 speech series after you have completed your CTM.

Alan also won the award for "Best Evaluator"

Ken Fonda, Area Governor explained that we should have large pizzas if we expect him to return. Just kidding about that . . . he said he'd come back even if we had small pizzas.

Jude was elected Sergeant-at-arms.

Ken Fonda, Area Governor announced that Maury Tasem (our club member) was going to be the next Area Governor. It's good to know people in high places.
