Alan Colton, our club President, started the meeting on time and introduced
Evonne Spineto as the Toastmaster.

Educational Moment was done by Doug Goodman.
Prepared Speakers:


1st Speaker: Michelle Hoyt did her 5th speech now Half way to her CTM. Memories of her First Car.

2nd Speaker: Alan Colton did his 8th speech towards his ATM.

3rd Speaker: Robert Wade did his 1st speech and is on his way toward his ATM

Julie Norris -- Table Topics and asked for volunteers to pick words from a basket: Alan Colton, Byron Shovlain,

George Bonner, Don Suskind and

Ferdonya Henderson responded.
Matt Greenbergs was the General Evaluator, his team:

Byron Shovlain was Evaluator #1,

Maury Tasem was Evaluator #2,
Dick Larkin was Evaluator #3,

Don Suskind was Grammarian/ AH counter and

Joe Stewart was Timer.
All did a great job of Evaluating us. The ballots were counted and the awards were all close calls:

Dee Williams, Jenni Holloway, Don Suskind and Byron Shovlain. They were all accepted and now on their way as Toastmasters.

Educational Moment was done by Dick Larkin on Tips for all speakers. First, write your own self introduction (it should be exciting and set the stage for your speech) and make sure the Toastmaster has it before your speech. Second, begin your speech by acknowledging the Toastmaster and fellow Toastmasters and welcome guests.

Allison Converse did her 3rd speech towards her CTM. She spoke on the importance of the Walk on the Wildside at the Wild Animal Park.
2nd Speaker:

Byron Shovlain did his 1st speech and is on his way toward his CTM, after 13 years of really starting with Toastmasters. He did his Ice Breaker.

Friday night, March 5, 2004, Toastmasters Area 5 held the annual Evaluation and Speech Contest. Century Toastmasters was represented by Martin Olmeda in the Evaluation Contest, and Jim Tucker in the Speech Contest.
Both of our representatives were successful in winning their competitions.
